Great game, quality doesn't match price.

My husband and I are avid board gamers. We have spent thousands of dollars on board games - we have somewhere between 300 and 400 board and card gamesThis is a fabulous game. It has a learning curve, but once you have figured it out, it is logical and flows well. It changes enough every time to keep it interesting and competitive. I highly, highly recommend the actual game play. It's an absolutely favorite of ours. The manufacturing itself, however, is not worth the high price. The board is thin and warped, the pieces are plastic, the player mats are plastic-coated cardstock, and the cards are thin. The board is barely usable as-is; the pieces slide because of the curving. For a game in this price range, I would have expected linen cards, possibly wood pieces, and at least a thicker, well-constructed board and player mats. There really aren't that many pieces, and no customized, game-specific pieces, so the cost really isn't justified. Sad that such an awesome game is locked behind such a high price that it doesn't quite hold up to physically.

Love it love it love it!

If you’re a fan of in depth, long board games this is absolutely for you. The game is so fun. It’s a bit involved so if you’re looking for something like Monopoly or Sorry, this is probably more than you want. The fastest I’ve ever played a 2 person game was about 90 minutes. When we have a full game of 5 people, it usually takes about 5 hours. We play with preludes and Venus next. also enjoy Helas/ Elysian. Never played with colonies or turmoil before. (The expansion packs are of course not included in the base game.)If you’ve played Catan, this is similar but in my opinion, more fun.The base game is fun but with all the expansion packs, you can seriously make this game what you want.I definitely recommend!

An amazing speculative eurogame that can be played solo

Mars was successfully terraformed on my last turn - what a relief! Around turns 8 or 9, I couldn't have imagined reaching the goal by turn 12, but I'm so glad I persisted. The exponential growth in the final phase of an engine-building game is always a thrill. For an exceptional solo experience, I highly recommend the Prelude expansion. The rules are straightforward and easy to grasp in your first session. With its high replayability, the game stands out as a true gem. It offers a fantastic combination of Eurogame mechanics for those seeking a strategic challenge: resource management, economic engine building, hand management, and variable player powers, all seamlessly integrated into a cohesive and engaging experience. A masterpiece of game design.

The game is good but the box arrived damaged

The game arrived with a bump that seems to have been before the packaging since the outer box arrived well, a little sad about that
